Betsy Fabacher – Ancestor of Taylor Fabacher
My mother, Betsy Fabacher, played a vital role in my salvation. She is always there to offer word of advice and a prayer. My mom is constantly offering to help someone which is at times annoying but it teaches me to be kind and let the love of Christ pour out of me through my actions.
I know my mom is always there for me and will always encourage me in my walk with Christ. I am so lucky to have a mother who is so in love with Christ and is eager to share that love with everyone.
I have many people in my life that have led me to Christ and nurtured my walk with him my entire life. I have been so blessed in that way.
The one on the top of that list would be my mother, Kim Clift. She knew Jesus from a very early age and in my eyes has never turned away from him. She has been through so many hardships in her life since she was young and despite them all her faith has remained.
She is currently very sick and her quality of life in this world is very minimal but yet she looks to Jesus to get her through and presses on. She is a shining example for those of us dealing with abuse, sickness, hateful people, anything that can bring you down, that all you need in this life is Jesus.
She has taught me to love him in the storms of life and in the happy times. She is my rock!
Thank you Mom. I love you!
Julie Caraballo – Ancestor of Ashley Sasser
I met Julie Caraballo (then Sasser) the summer before my 9th grade year. We got really close at church camp and continued our relationship from then on. She was my “friend” that I could talk to about God. You know, the one you didn’t feel awkward around when bringing Him up.
She was a year ahead of me in school so the year she graduated and went to school was hard because I lost that Godly support that had pulled me through so much. Not having her physically there was just not the same. But, the following year after I graduated, we became roommates in Athens, GA.
I was at a place in my life where I wanted more of God than ever before but still teetered on the line of total surrender to Him and giving up control of my life. We did bible studies together and would stay up for hours talking about what God was doing in our lives. She was the friend that “spurred me on in love and good deeds”. (Heb. 10:24).
Things might have turned out a lot different for me had she not been the friend that she was, at a very impressionable time in my life. She was excited and passionate about God, she desired to please Him and she made me want to also. That is why she is my Ancestor in Christ. She still to this day is my best bud in life and in the Lord, and my sister-in law!
Ashley helped me so much with growing in my relationship with God.
She opened my eyes. If it wasn’t for her, I probably wouldn’t be saved now. We’re so lucky to have a youth minister like her at VFUMC.
My life would be completely different without Ashley. I understand everything better. She really pours her heart into sharing God’s word and would do anything for us.
My Grandma, Bobbie Carpenter, has had such a great impact on my life.
From cooking Sunday lunch for the family to playing piano for two churches, she has put her heart in all she does.
But most importantly, she has always put God first in every aspect of her life. Something she has always taught Taylor and me is to love others, and she taught us this by not only telling, but showing.
My mom, Jennifer Gillenwater, has had one of the greatest impacts on my spiritual life.
From an early age, I was taught Sunday IS for church and you don’t just skip because you’re tired and its early. I am thankful for that because now its a concept
implemented into my mind. Church is important.
Making church such a priority from the start leads to making God a priority for your future when you really understand.
My mom is so humble and never wants to be the center of attention or even want people to know of her giving so she will not be praised for it, because after all, the glory is not her’s.
I hope one day I can be the kind of mother she is.
Paula Sharpe Corbin – Ancestor of Elizabeth Corbin
My mother, Paula Sharpe Corbin, has gotten me through the most. She has mentored me in the ways of Christ. She has fed me scripture my entire life. She prays for me all the time.
She was there for me even when I didn’t believe anyone was. She told me to turn back to God and let him be in control of my life. Of course I was being a stubborn teenager and
didn’t want to listen to anyone and I fell away from Christ.
She never stopped praying for me. There is great power in prayer! Most people wouldn’t believe I had hope to change, but I did!
I know life will always have it’s trials, that’s the only way we can get stronger, but I’ll always know my mom will be there to support me in my walk with Christ.
Ricky Mitchell is by far the greatest man and greatest father I will ever get to
know. My dad was instrumental in me getting saved.
Since he was saved he has pushed me to get involved in church, even when I didn’t want to. He finally got me involved and I was saved. Ever since he has shown me what a true man of Christ should be like; he is the perfect Christian role model.
He has encourged me and pushed me in my walk with Christ and keeps me accountable. I love him to death.
Ethan Floyd – Ancestor of Evan Clark
Ethan has always been a light for me and shown me the way for everything. He has always showed compassion for people who he doesn’t know and those who are
closest to him.
He impacted my life by always trusting in Jesus and always being
a leader for Him.
Ashley Sasser – Ancestor of Aly Helms
Ashley has always been such a strong, amazing Christian and has made such a great impact on the church and our youth group. I am so grateful to have Ashley as a youth leader who I can always come to with problems or struggles. 🙂
I know that she will always be there for me when I need her. I can always count on her to keep me in her prayers and I know she will continue to lift me up throughout my walk with Christ.
I am so blessed to have Ashley in my life and I am proud to call her my aunt. 🙂 Thank you for all you do! I love you Ash! 🙂
